'Best idea ever': How to make an easy big breakfast in the slow cooker

This is making us a little hungry already!

You know how good it smells when you come home from a long day to your slow cooker slaving away on dinner, well now imagine waking up to that for breakfast!

This Mum has posted on Facebook what she believes to be the 'best idea ever'... using a slow cooker to make a big breakfast.

What she did was take her bacon, sausages, mushrooms, beans, and hash browns, stack them all around the slow cooker and chuck it on low from around 11pm.

By 8am all the food was well ready and all you need to do is roll out of bed and float your way to the breakfast table.

This mum has one tip though, use a bit of baking paper to help keep everything from sticking to the sides. Unfortunately she didn't do this the first time and leant the hard way.

With the mushrooms, she added garlic, butter, a splash of cream and all the mushrooms into a cup to contain them while cooking.

"I turned the slow cooker on low at 11pm. I got up at 8am, and it looked like it had been ready for a while. We ate at around 9am."

While the Mum loved the unique approach, some Facebook users were divided:

"Am I the only one thinking how much did it cost to run the slow cooker all night?"

"Great idea for people with no usable kitchen like us at the moment!"

Now that it’s summer, we might have retired our slow cookers for dinners, but do you think you'd bring it back to try this breakfast method?
