Watch Kate Middleton's sweet reaction to 1yo stealing her designer handbag to play with

"I love the way she just left it with him."

It's not every day that you hear about a baby stealing a princess's designer handbag, but that's exactly what happened during Princess Kate's visit to Wales!

The Prince and Princess of Wales made a stop at the Aberfan Memorial Garden to pay their respects to those who died in the Aberfan disaster.

While chatting with some royal fans, Kate was stopped by Lucy Williams, who was holding her one-year-old son, Daniel.

This little guy quickly became obsessed with Kate's black Mulberry handbag, which just so happens to cost a whopping NZD $1372.

Without missing a beat, Kate handed the bag over to Daniel, but let him know she'd be back for it later, Lucy recounted to ITV.

"He can have it to play with, I'll come back for it!"

In the now-viral video, baby Daniel can be seen trying to put the purse handle in his mouth as his mom reacts in shock. "Don't eat it!" she giggled.

Kate laughed along with the crowd before Lucy returned the bag to the Princess.

Lucy spoke to ITV after the incident, saying: "It was nice to see how the mother of three reacted in humour. I'm just speechless. It's typical of him though. He's a bit of a hurricane, I wouldn't expect anything less!"

"I think she sympathised with how hard it is with children."

Twitter users were quick to praise the princess for her sweet interaction with the baby.

One person wrote: "I love the way she just left it with him. He’s a very trustworthy-looking baby, obviously."

While another tweeted, "Memories.. ' I  robbed a princess' bag once…  but... I was only one year old at the time ' ... Funny and Cute all at the same time."

Someone else even quipped, "I think it shows he has very good taste!"

Who knew that a one-year-old could be such a fashionista? Princess Kate certainly handled the situation with grace and humour.
