Buckingham Palace confirmed on Friday morning (09/09/22) that The Queen has passed away.
"Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s Health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral" the statement read.

The photo has since gone viral with people commenting on how beautiful the symbolism is.
A rainbow was spotted over Buckingham Palace yesterday just before the royal family announced the passing of Queen Elizabeth.
"That rainbow is proof that the Queen is looking down from up in heaven. Her legacy will live on for many years to come" one user replied to the video post.
Thousands of mourners have gathered outside under the grey skies.
Correspondent Ali Costello described this very poignant moment:
"We looked up at Windsor castle... the Union Jack flag was coming down to half-mast and at that exact moment, a rainbow came across Windsor castle, across those towers which were lit up by light and it was as though the Queen was saying I'm okay."
