Lady Gaga performs a powerful stripped down version of 'Hold My Hand' at the Oscars

The star removed her make up, and changed to simple clothes for this performance.

Lady Gaga's 'Hold My Hand', the official soundtrack of Top Gun: Maverick has been nominated for the best music original sound at the 95th Academy Awards.

Wearing a simple black t-shirt and ripped jeans, and with no makeup, Lady Gaga performed a powerful stripped-down version of 'Hold My Hand' - one of the reasons why we love her and why she is nominated for the Oscars again.

Introducing the track, she said how it is very personal to her.

She talks about how everyone needs a hero sometimes in life, and that even if you're broken inside you can still be your own hero.

"It's deeply personal for me and I think that we all need each other, and we need a lot of love to walk through this life and we all need a hero sometimes. There's heroes all around us in unassuming places but you might find that you can be your own hero even if you feel broken inside".

Initially, the star was meant to skip the awards, due to her film schedules for the sequel of Joker. However, with last-minute changes, she not only attended the ceremony, but she also performed.

Lady Gaga is the first artist to receive three nominations in the best original song category with "Hold My Hand" from Top Gun: Maverick, "Shallow" from A Star is Born in 2019, and "Till it Happens to You" from The Hunting Ground in 2016.
