Wellington Chocolate Factory is getting Kiwis to get inventive, thinking up their ultimate chocolate flavour to be made into 500 real bars.
After a four-year hiatus, WFC's ‘Chocolate Dreams’ encourages Kiwis to create their most imaginative chocolate flavours and design a wrapper to match.
The competition used to be just for little ones, but it's now open to all ages after the adults begged for a turn. There are categories for Juniors, Teens and an Open competition for those over 18.
In 2020, Sophia Evans from Nelson dreamed up an Orange Moustachio bar, which was made a reality with her personally designed packaging.

The top chocolate entries will then be voted on by other Kiwis to determine which ones will be available on the shelf.
The winner will collaborate with WCF to bring their creation to life, receiving 50 bars of their final product, while the remaining 450 will be sold at WCF.
“Who doesn’t want to fulfil their ultimate childhood dream?” Said Gabe Davidson, co-founder of Wellington Chocolate Factory. “We’re all big kids at heart, so I’m really excited to see what our aspiring chocolate makers come up with.”
