The Royal Family Instagram account has shared it's favourite recipe for Christmas pudding.
Writing on Instagram they said: "Today is Stir-up Sunday: traditionally the day when home cooks βstir upβ their Christmas pudding mixture on the Sunday before the Advent season - and the countdown to Christmas - begins."
"This year, chefs in the Royal kitchens have shared their recipe for a traditional Christmas pudding. We hope that some of you enjoy making it in your own homes."
"The recipe will make two 1kg puddings. Ingredients as follows:"
π 250g raisins
π 250g currants
π 185g sultanas
π 150g mixed peel
π§ 250g suet or vegetarian suet
π 250g breadcrumbs
πΎ 90g flour
π12g mixed spice
π₯ 2 whole eggs
π¬180g demerara sugar
πΊ 275ml beer
πΉ 40ml dark rum
π₯ 40ml brandy
If you donβt want to use alcohol, you can substitute for orange juice or cold tea.
On Christmas Day, reheat your pudding in a bain-marie for 3-4 hours. Remove from the basin using a rounded knife or palette knife, flip out onto a plate, garnish or flambΓ© and serve with brandy sauce and cream.
