A young Kiwi mum who is currently battling cancer received an amazing surprise over the weekend.
Ebony Palm from Taranaki got a personal video message from her favourite singer, P!nk saying she was sending Ebony a 'virtual hug'.
"I'm wrapping my arms around you," P!nk said in the short clip. "I send you light, I send you love, I send you support and strength. My family is thinking about you and praying for you and I just wanted you to know how special you are."
Ebony got the video on Sunday and said she'd watched it over 100 times, crying tears of joy each time.
Ebony is a "massive" fan of the star. She has been to two of Pink's New Zealand concerts, owns every CD album, and said she had loved her ever since she first heard her.
On Sunday morning she was woken by a friend knocking at her door while at Te Rangimarie Hospice in New Plymouth. Her friend had a video to show her.
Palm cried while watching it and said she couldn't stop holding her phone.
"It's just so overwhelming," she said. "It's like people who are famous still have time to do that for an ordinary person."
