The cast of West Side Story put on a treat for pedestrians on Auckland's Queen Street by dancing in the middle of the street when the light went green to cross.
At the sign of the green man, the cast of West Side Story rushed out in front of unexpecting passers-by to perform a 30-second snippet from the show, which opens at the Civic Theatre on Thursday night.
West Side Story, which has been billed as one of Broadway's greatest dance musicals, is a Romeo and Juliet-inspired tale of love between members of two rival gangs in 1950s New York City.
The international production visiting Auckland features a number of Broadway performers and has previously toured to Paris, Beijing, Tokyo and London.
