Justin Rae's 80's memories

From kung fu shoes to tangy fruits, if you're an 80s Kiwi kid, you'll relate to Justin!

I was an 80’s kid and have so many great memories of that decade, from kung fu shoes and stubies to the Rubik's Cube and playing the spacie games at the fish n’ chip shop.

We played marbles with other kids in the streets until sundown.

We cut up ice cream containers and attached them to our bikes with pegs to make them sound like a motorbike!

As a sweet tooth I still vividly remember all the great lollies of the 80’s like Checkers, Charlie Brown chewing gum sticks, K Bars, Tangy fruits, Snifters and money lollies.

I used to go around the neighbourhood collecting old coke, fanta and lemonade bottles to cash them in for lolly money.

The movies like Indiana Jones, Back to the future and E.T captured our imaginations and the music is still as popular today as it was back then and I love the fact the Breeze is NZ’s go to 80’s station.
