Rocket Lab make history in New Zealand

Rocket Lab engineers have started analysing data from the  historic launch from the Mahia Peninsula that took them to space but not able to complete the  orbital mission.

New Zealand has become the 11th country with potential to launch cargo into space, joining superpowers and technologigal heavyweights.

The lift-off is  a major milestone for the country's space industry.

Rocket Lab are one of a few companies to ever develop a rocket from scratch and they did it in under four years. To get as far as they did on the first test flight doesn't often happen.

Go Kiwis Go! we have Lift off!
