Phil Keoghan's new show Tough As Nails is going to be very relatable for many Kiwis

Robert Scott caught up with Phil Keoghan to chat about his new show.

He's the Kiwi that has been a regular on our TV screens thanks to being the long-standing host of The Amazing Race.

But now, Phil Keoghan is back with a brand new TV show - and it's one that Kiwis are bound to enjoy.

The new show is Tough As Nails, and it seems the idea has been slightly inspired by Phil's Kiwi roots and our ability to roll our sleeves up and get stuck in to any task.

In Tough As Nails, tradespeople compete in a series of challenges to win the ultimate prize of $200,000 and a 2020 Ford Super Duty truck.

Phil caught up with The Breeze's Robert Scott to chat about the upcoming show, how he stays connected to NZ and why he thinks The Amazing Race has become such an iconic show for multiple generations.

Tough As Nails, Prime, Wednesday July 29.
