Sausage Pie Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 sheets defrosted flaky pastry 
  • 1 grated potato 
  • 500gms Sausage meat
  • 1 diced onion 
  • 1 grated carrot
  • 1 grated apple or 1/2 cup crushed pineapple 
  • 1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs 
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce 

TOPPING:

  • 1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs 
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley 
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese 

METHOD:

  1. Heat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius 
  2. Join the pastry sheets and cut to line the base and sides of your prepared tin
  3. Mix the sausage meat, potato, carrot, apple, breadcrumbs,egg, tomato sauce together 
  4. Put the mix into the pastry and smooth it over
  5. Mix topping ingredients and sprinkle on top 
  6. Any pastry off cuts? I like to decorate the top with a fun shape 
  7. Bake for about 40-45 minutes until filling cooked and the topping is golden
