One of life's little greatest pleasures are when you learn a brand new food hack that really helps you out when you're in the kitchen!
Firmly roll a lemon between your hands, then on a hard surface – such as a bench top - until the inside of the fruit feels soft. Take a food skewer and pierce the lemon through the top nodule, pushing it to the middle of the fruit. Then, all you have to do is squeeze and a stream of lemon juice should flow freely from the hole in the top of the lemon.
