A new study of over 3000 releationships has worked out the best age difference for relationships.
According to the study the bigger the age difference the bigger the chance of seperation.
Couples with a five-year age gap are 18% more likely to split up than those of the same age. That figure rose to 39% for couples with a 10-year age gap and grew even higher to 95% for those with a 20-year age gap.
The researchers found that the most 'ideal' age gap was just 1 year apart, with only a 3% chance of seperation.
“It could just be that the types of couples with those characteristics are the types of couples who are, on average, more likely to divorce for other reasons,” said Hugo Mialon, a researcher involved in the study.
