Singer Kelly Clarkson is known to duet with some of the world's best-known musicians and singers in her special 'Kellyoke' segment. But it's rare for an actor to cover their TV theme song on her stage!
The "Piece by Piece" singer, 41, teamed up with actor Kelsey Grammer to sing the iconic theme song from 'Frasier', Bruce Miller's jazzy 'Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs'.
The 68-year-old actor took turns singing lines of the song with Kelly with the perfect amount of jazzy attitude, accompanied by Kelly's in-house band who had a mini solo of their own.
The pop star was more than grateful to share the stage with her singing partner, who initially portrayed the titular role of Frasier Crane in 'Cheers' in 1984 before he featured in his own 1993 spin-off.
“Thank you for jamming with me. This is like a dream come true for me, y’all,” Kelly told her audience.
'Fraiser' has now been rebooted in a new series that sees Kelsey Grammer revive his role and return to Boston. The series revolves around the now-retired psychiatrist and talk show host hoping to build a better relationship with his son Frederick.
Originally, showrunners Joe Cristalli and Chris Harris revealed they had planned for the new series to focus on Frasier and his brother Niles running a theatre together.
“For a long time, the idea was that Frasier and Niles were going to run a black-box theatre, like how they bought that restaurant and brought it back to life [in the season two episode ‘The Innkeepers’],” said Cristalli.
However, David Hyde Pierce, who played Frasier’s brother, Niles, didn't wish to rejoin the 2023 reboot.
Several other main stars from the original Frasier series do not appear in the revival, including Jane Leeves, who played Niles's wife Daphne Moon, and Frasier's father John Mahoney, who passed in 2018.
