Endometriosis diagnosis shared by Bindi Irwin in heartfelt Instagram post

Bindi Irwin has taken to Instagram to share her journey with the condition and encourage other women to seek help

Australian personality and conservationist, Bindi Irwin, has revealed that she has been diagnosed with endometriosis.

For those who don’t know Endometriosis is a condition where tissue that normally lines the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing pain and is estimated to affect around one in ten women.

In a post on Instagram, Irwin shared her experience with the condition, saying, "I'm writing this to share my experience with endometriosis and hopefully give others out there a bit of hope and understanding."

Throughout the past decade, Bindi has been experiencing pain and has undergone numerous tests, doctor appointments, and scans to find the cause.

"A doctor told me it was simply something you deal with as a woman & I gave up entirely, trying to function through the pain”

But her friends and family still encouraged her to find the answers.

"I didn’t find answers until a friend @lesliemosier helped set me on a path of regaining my life”

Bini revealed in her post that she has now had surgery for endometriosis, during which they discovered 37 lesions, including some that were ‘very deep & difficult to remove’. Additionally, they found a "chocolate cyst," a type of fluid-filled cyst that typically develops deep within the ovaries.

“@seckinmd’s first words to me when I was in recovery were, 'How did you live with this much pain?'”

"Validation for years of pain is indescribable."

Irwin encouraged others who may be experiencing similar symptoms to seek help, saying,

"I’m sharing my story for anyone who reads this & is quietly dealing with pain & no answers. Let this be your validation that your pain is real & you deserve help. Keep searching for answers. www.endofound.org."
