Sir Rod Stewart sings impromptu jingle for his grandchild at daughter's gender reveal

Singer Sir Rod Stewart was full of excitement and fist-pumps when he was in charge of announcing the gender of his second grandchild.

Unfolding the important piece of A4 paper, Sir Rod got straight ot the point delivering the news to his daughter Ruby, her partner Jake and their surrounding family.

"It's a boy!"

As Ruby hugged Jake and the rest of those present screamed in delight, Sir Rod trumphantly shook his fist in the air, declaring his grandson will be "Born a Celtic!"

He then broke into a song and began singing: "Another winkle in the Stewart family", proudly holding up the piece of paper that announced the news.

The legendary singer, who is a father to eight children from three marriages and one former relationship, shared the video of the gender reveal with his 1.2million followers on Instagram.

"It’s a boy!" Sir Rod captioned the video. "Huge congratulations to my daughter @rubystewart and @itsjakeyouguys ❤️"

Ruby, 35, announced on her own Instagram that she's expecting to give birth to her first child in April.

Alongside a video of an ultrasound of her unborn child, Ruby wrote: "Out of all of the things that happened in 2022 you were by far the most beautiful…We can’t wait to meet you…"

Proud father Rod posted underneath her video, "So happy for the two of you", while wife Penny Lancaster shared "Can't wait to meet him.

Ruby's older half-sister Kimberly Stewart even joked that she could see Ruby's baby "Def has the Stewart nose."

Sir Rod is booked to be in New Zealand early April, touring Dunedin and Hawke’s Bay with fellow iconic singer Cyndi Lauper, so here's hoping he makes it home in time to be with the family for his new grandson's arrival!
