Woman finds a love letter in a charity shop - then realises she wrote it as a teen

What are the chances?

It’s always an interesting surprise to purchase a pre-loved item and wonder where it came from, but for one woman there was no question about it.

Kaylee Powell was surprised when she noticed a love letter in a charity shop and then the shock sunk in as she realised it was one that she had written as a teen.

The note was a love note that Kaylee has written for her teenage sweetheart.

It wasn’t hard for Kaylee to recognise the note as it was beautifully collaged, mosaic piece.

Kaylee shared her discovery on her TikTok account @steamgeekcreations and wrote: “We were at our local Goodwill and walking past the shelf when we stumbled across this, which is a piece I made 10 years ago for my high school boyfriend.”

What are the chances?

Unfortunately, the sweet message on the back had been painted over, but that didn’t stop Kaylee from retrieving her special memory.

She took it home and scraped the paint off the back, revealing the fond words she had written about her previous boyfriend.

Kelly then read out the letter which she had written years before, which said: "I honestly can't believe that it's only been a couple of weeks. The memories we've made, the mornings we've shared and the love I've gained are priceless.”

"I really don't know what you see in me, I don't know why you care, but I'm just so glad you've found something you find worthwhile in me, and I'm so glad and thankful that I can call you mine.”

"I hope we have a thousand more anniversaries after this. I hope that this is the end of my old life and the start of my new one.”

"I love you more than words could ever say and I hope that will never change - You are my beacon of salvation, the stars in my night sky and my best friend.

“I love you, Kaylee."

If that’s not the sweetest teenage letter that we all dreamed of receiving, then I don’t know what is.

Kaylee’s note proves that some memories truly are priceless.
