Coldplay is currently on their 'Music of the Spheres' tour and just recently, they treated their audience with a surprise appearance of the one and only Bruce Springsteen!
The musician joined the band to perform 'Working on a Dream' and followed by a classic, 'Dancing in the Dark'.
While introducing 'Working on a Dream', Bruce told the crowd, "Well, like Chris said, he’s had this song tattooed on his arm for a while, so I guess I’ve got to sing it".
Three years ago, Chris Martin got a tattoo of the title track of Bruce's sixteenth studio album 'Working on a dream' on his left arm.
Although the album was released back in 2009, in an interview back in 2020, Chris told, " It’s not an obvious Bruce song but it’s a song called ‘Working on a Dream,’ which is quite recent Bruce. That was kind of my gateway drug into Bruce. Of course, that’s what we’re doing every day, working on a dream.”
"Of course, Bruce could fart in my face and I’d think it’s amazing, so I’m a bit biased" he joked.
And now, three years later they get to perform that song together!
For their second performance, it was only Chris Martin and Bruce Springsteen who did a stripped-back performance of 'Dancing in the Dark'. Chris Martin played the piano, and Bruce played the guitar, as they sang away beautifully with the crowd.
