New World, PAK'nSave and Four Square to reduce the prices on their everyday items

NZ 11/05/2022

Foodstuffs have announced they are decreasing the prices of everyday items by an average of 10%. So if you shop from New World, PAK'nSave or Four Square your grocery bill could start looking a bit cheaper from next week.

The company announced that the prices of more than 110 grocery items will be reduced to what they averaged from January 25 to April 25 last year. The price drop will be in effect from Monday May 16 until August 14 2022.

Everyday products include everything from your necessary grocery items from fresh fruit and vegetables, coffee, tea, to personal care items like nappies and soap.

Foodstuffs NZ managing director Chris Quin said that this is not a marketing stunt.

"It's a real saving for our customers and a real cost to our business, as a result of this price rollback our stores will be selling some items below cost" he said.

These are extraordinary times and Kiwis must be able to afford the everyday items they need in their weekly shop over the next few months.

"As locally owned co-operatives we have a responsibility to step up and our store owners are committed to this initiative" he added.

Just recently, Countdown announced to freeze their prices over the winter months.

Warehouse too stepped up by offering the lowest priced breakfast items in the country.
