Air New Zealand releases new safety video sharing the beautiful story of Tiaki & The Guardians

NZ 05/05/2022

Sharing the beautiful story of Tiaki & The Guardians alongside our gorgeous country, Air New Zealand released yet another great safety video.

The video starts off with the storytelling at the marae, and then showcasing our beautiful Aotearoa. It's an amazing blend of the culture, the place, the country and a reminder to take care of them all.

"We invite all of you to join Tiaki's quest to care for the people, places and culture of Aotearoa" says one of the flight attendants in the video.

"Inspired by the Tiaki Promise, this Safety Video follows a young man named Tiaki who with the help of his friends at Air New Zealand, boards a waka rererangi (flying canoe) and sets off on an adventure across Aotearoa to visit the Guardians of this world; Ranginui – our father sky, Tāne Mahuta – the forest, Papatūānuku– our mother earth, and Tangaroa – our oceans, lakes & rivers" Air NZ wrote on their website.

"Tiaki means to care for our people, place and culture, and is Aotearoa's way of showing people how to help preserve and protect what makes our home so special, so that it can continue to be enjoyed for generations to come".

Viewers have absolutely loved it.

"Absolutely breathtaking. I want to swim in this nature, breathe the air of mountains and forests. Maybe…just maybe I can drift my soul while I‘m laying there in the grass or on the ground in the forest" One user wrote.

"An awesome combination of indigenous teachings with Air New Zealand flight details. ENJOY WATCH #flight #waka #stories" another wrote.
