Study shows that our pets are the best binge-watching partners

Must See 18/02/2022

Of course, there are so many upsides when watching with our pets. There's no argument on what to watch, no cheating (binge-watch partner watches it ahead of you), no risk of spoilers, no one asks questions in the middle of an intense scene and our pets don't even judge about what we watch (maybe).

They are always there for snuggles (well conditions apply). One in three in the study has turned to their pets for comfort during sad or scary scenes.

According to a survey done in 2018, most people enjoyed binge-watching with their pets. More than half 58% said that their pets are the best bingeing companions. 30% have a profile set up for watching their four-legged family member. 22% talked to their pet about the show or movie they were watching.

More than a third of the respondents (37%) moved where they were sitting so their pet would be comfortable and 22% bribed them with treats to watch longer. 12% have even gone all the way to turn off a show just because they didn't appear to like it.

The survey was conducted by SurveyMonkey from January 9-25, 2018 and based on more than 50,000 responses. The sample is representative of an adult online population who watch Netflix with their pets in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, USA, UK.
