Adults spend nearly an hour cleaning their homes on Christmas Day

New research from Marigold has discovered that the average adult spends a whole hour cleaning their home on Christmas Day.

A study of around 2,000 people found that the time spent preparing for guests and cleaning up after family during Christmas equals around 45 minutes of time.

In fact, three in ten claim to spend more time cleaning over the Christmas period than actually enjoying the celebrations.

It also emerged half are guilty of judging other people's homes when visiting them over the festive period.

And 72 percent feel the pressure to clean prior to having visitors during the holidays, with a quarter claiming that being judged themselves is the top reason for cleaning over Christmas.
