Simple iPhone hack will easily help you learn te reo

If you're interested in learning te reo, then there is a huge amount of helpful resources available that you can find here, but one Kiwi has revealed an awesome, easy iPhone hack that will help you quickly learn te reo on the go!

The trick is to go to your settings and swap out some words in your phone to the te reo word, meaning when you type the word (eg: walk) in english, it will automaticaly autocorrect to the Māori word (eg: hīkoi).

Here are the instructions for iPhone users:
  1. Head into your Settings.
  2. Click General.
  3. Click on Keyboard.
  4. Click Text Replacement.
  5. Click on the + button (top right).
  6. In the 'Phrase' line, add the te reo word or phrase of your choice.
  7. In the Shortcut line, add the English word.

Some easy words that you could translate are walk/hīkoi, sleep/moe, house/whare, toilet/wharepaku, food/kai, book/pukapuka, school/kura, tomorrow/āpōpō, hello/kia ora.
