'Working Class Man' Jimmy Barnes knows how to make the most of his home.
His house in Sydney that has gone on the market boasts not only a history of #1 albums recorded in his home studio, but he's also celebrated weddings, held birthdays, mourned lost friends and hosted friends near and far.
“The house has been such a godsend for the family,” Jimmy Barnes tells Domain. “We’ve had twenty-firsts for the kids, 40th and 50th birthday parties. Great friends from all over the world have come and stayed with us there.”
And while business is in the studio, the heart of the home is definitely their well-equipped commercial-sized kitchen.
“It’s a kitchen that really lends itself to entertaining. It’s all open, so you can be in there cooking and entertaining at the same time. We’ve cooked for gatherings of 100 people in that kitchen, but also every night of the week, we’d have dinner for the family, and it was just beautiful.”
Many of his family recipe meals appear in his new cookbook; 'Where the River Bends: Recipes and Stories from the Table of Jane and Jimmy Barnes', to be released in October.
Jimmy's house is going up for auction on August 28 and expected to be in the $4 million bracket.
