The sequel to the Downton Abbey film has wrapped filming, and now the production teams are working hard to piece together the film ready for it's cinema release on March 18, 2022.
A teaser clip was released to the press revealing the Crawley family and the Downton staff as preparations for an overseas journey are underway. Mr Carson is in one of the few lines of dialogue in the footage, “The British are coming.” There’s lots of glitz and glamour and jazz, as well as, evidently, a wedding.
While we wait in anticpation, The Sun UK has revealed some rather damning goss about the sequel... we are set to lose a beloved Downton Abbey character.
A source of the paper said writer Julian Fellowes “has made this death so poignant.”
They added: “Those who have seen the scenes said they are so emotional."
They really will leave fans in floods. It’s heartbreak at Highclere Castle and there won’t be a dry eye in cinemas.
No clues have been given as to who is making their final appearance.
But fans will be fearing for the aging Dowager Countess, played by Dame Maggie Smith.
Other favourites possibly in the line of fire include Lord Grantham, the Countess of Grantham, Lady Mary Crawley, or butler Carson.
But we will have to wait and see.
