Barbra Streisand has hit out at the 2018 'A Star Is Born' film, starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.
During a recent episode on Australia's The Sunday Project, Barbra made the claims that "it was the wrong idea".
Barbra famously starred in the 1976 version of the film alongsie Kris Kristofferson. The film was originally made in 1937 with Janet Gaynor and Fredric March, and then first remade in 1954 with Judy Garland and James Mason.
'At first, when I heard it was going to be done again, it was supposed to be Will Smith and Beyoncé, and I thought, that's interesting,' Barbra said to the Aussie TV programme.
'Really make it different again, different kind of music, integrated actors, I thought that was a great idea. So, I was surprised when I saw how alike it was to the version that I did in 1976.'
The story line is fairly basic: a seasoned star helps out a younger one who eclipses him.
Barbra was not happy with the direction the film took and despite the 2018 film's huge success, Barbra said: 'I don't care so much about success as I do originality,'
