Auckland Zoo calling for help from gardening experts to help feed their animals

Must See

If you're in the wider Auckland area and are known to have green fingers, then Auckland Zoo is looking for you to help them out!

The team at the zoo have put the call out for gardeners to help them feed their animals.

In specific, they are looking for vegetation to help feed their orangutans, elephants, baboons and giraffes and would love any spare, spray-free ficus, she oak, feijoa, puka, monstera, cabbage tree, birds of paradise or banana palms that you have in your backyard.

Auckland Zoo is asking for those keen to lend a hand to email them at browse@aucklandzoo.co.nz, with all your contact info, which plants you have and in what quantities, as well as your location.

For certain locations, they will be able to collect this vegetation from you or they will happily accept deliveries with prior arrangement with the team.
