Kiwis set to be outraged during new season of The Crown on Netflix

Kiwi fans of The Crown may get a little riled up while watching the newest season of The Crown on Netflix, due out this weekend.

In the latest trailer for the royal show, we caught a glimpse of Prince Charles and Princess Diana's royal trip to New Zealand in 1983.

Many royal fans will remember the iconic scene of the royal couple and their son Prince William on the grounds of Auckland’s Government House. Nine-month-old Prince William playing with our country’s much-loved iconic wooden toy – the Buzzy Bee – while sitting on a blanket with his parents.

The photo made front pages of newspapers around the globe, but when they portray the iconic moment in The Crown - it won't be set in New Zealand.

As reported by Stuff, the man behind The Crown “relocated” the shoot to outback Australia. It's said that having that scene earlier in their Australasia suited the narrative better - but it's sure to outrage Kiwis who love to follow the royals.

It's also been revealed that less than one minute of the episode is devoted to the fortnight-long New Zealand section of their six-week royal tour. Gutted!

But no doubt, we won't hold it against them and will continue to watch the series!

The Crown Season 4 is out November 15.
