Julie Walters career as an actress spans across forty years, but she has now announced that she's retiring from acting - unless it is for another Mamma Mia! film.
The call comes after Julie's cancer remission. After beating the cancer she decided that she would leave acting behind as she believed that the intense workload that comes with the job may have been what would make her ill again.
"The oncologist said to me, ‘What do you think has caused the cancer?’ And the first thing that came to my mind was acting." she told The Times.
"Acting caused it, because of the way I approach it – I have to be totally in it. It’s very stressful. You’re being judged. It’s a stressful job and I don’t sleep when I’m working. It’s not good for me."
But she did say that while she is rather set in her ways that she won't be in front of the camera again, she did say there would be one project that would make her go back on her word.
After the operation I thought, ‘I don’t want to work again’… unless it’s another Mamma Mia.
Mamma Mia! 3 hasn't been 100 confirmed, but the rumour mill has been swirling all year and the potential of it happening is looking very promising.
