TV personality Chrissy Teigen has posted the devastating news that she and husband, singer John Legend, have lost their newborn son.
The 34-year-old, who was halfway through her pregnancy, posted to her social media the raw news with a series of photographs of herself, John and her third child in hospital together.
Chrissy wrote: "We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before."
"We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough."
"We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital."
"But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever."
Earlier this week, Chrissy revealed that she had been submitted to hospital as she was suffering from excessive bleeding. She told her 31 million Instagram followers that the complication had been “hard to come to terms with” because she otherwise felt “really good” and loved being pregnant.
John and Chrissy have two other children, 4-year-old Luna and and 2-year-old Miles. Our thoughts are with the family at this time.
