Not long after news broke of 1News presenter Wendy Petrie being let go from her role as 1News anchor, Wendy shared a heartfelt message with her Instagram followers.
"Driving into Judy Bailey’s carpark 14 years ago was a daunting moment, with a newborn baby & a 2 year old at home." Wendy wrote.
"It’s hard to believe it’s been so long & that it’s over but I loved every minute. Thank you for all the wonderful messages."
She praised by the public for bowing out with her head held high, and keeping humble despite the horribly sad news.
But now, her daughter has also shared a message of support to Wendy alongside a photo of the pair.
"So proud of my strong, intelligent and talented mum." Wendy's daughter started.
"Despite what has happened in the last couple of days, she had held her head up high. She is a true inspiration to women working in the television industry and I am so proud to call her my mum."
