Staying motivated during the COVID-19 lockdown has been trying - for many of us, the initial surge of banana bread-baking and home workouts gave way to a sweatpant-swaddled haze of junk food and Netflix.

Not so for the Queen, who despite being 94 years of age, has stayed active every single day by riding her horses at Windsor Castle.

According to Vanity Fair, the Queen is in "excellent spirits" and enjoying spending more time with her husband, Prince Phillip.

Palace aids also refuted rumours that the Queen would not return to public duties for many months, claiming she was "looking forward to getting back to normal".

"There is no suggestion of her stepping back, she is very much fulfilling her duties as head of state."

As well as having addressed the UK twice during the COVID-19 outbreak, the Queen has been keeping up with the Commonwealth. Prime Minister Jacinda Arden had a "catch up" with the Queen last month, after which she said: "Her affection for New Zealand, her interest in what's happening here and her memory of places and events that are special to us never ceases to amaze me."
