PM Jacinda Ardern deems the Tooth Fairy & Easter Bunny essential workers

Children across New Zealand will be delighted to know that both the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy are able to continue their duties during lockdown since they're essential workers, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern confirmed.

During her press conference on Monday, Ardern clarified that the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy carry out essential tasks, so they are allowed to break their bubble and visit Kiwi homes.

But Ardern warned that the bunny might not be able to visit every household this Easter.

"As you can imagine at this time, they're going to potentially be quite busy at home with their family as well and their own bunnies.

"So I say to the children of New Zealand that if the Easter Bunny doesn't make it to your household, then we have to understand that it's a bit difficult at the moment for the bunny to perhaps get everywhere."

But she suggested that in lieu of the bunny being able to make it to someone's home, an Easter hunt could be created for all the children in the neighbourhood.
