The supermarket can be an uncomfortable setting to be in for some, but one security guard has aimed to bring a smile to people's faces as they try to do their grocery shop.

Pak' N Save Ormiston security guard Thomas Bourne is often at the entrance of the store making sure the Auckland shoppers are safe and at ease, and his dancing helps!

The Flat Bush security guard has had 250,000 views of his singing and dance moves on Facebook, singing the 80s' KC & The Sunshine Band hit song 'Give It Up' as shoppers head into the store.

“You never know someone’s going to be out there to make you laugh, that’s me," he told Seven Sharp.

Turns out the 80's classics are not the only things in his repertoire, also enjoying a few Backstreet Boys singalongs and a bit of Lion King music.

He's now embraced his new title as a local celebrity and is continuing to uplift spirits, saying “They all laugh man, that’s what everyone needs.”
