Downton Abbey is inviting guests to a virtual cocktail party at the estate

Must See 17/04/2020

Don your best frock and call the chauffeur! Downton Abbey is inviting you to a very elegant cocktail party held via video stream.

According to People, the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, who own the real life Downton Abbey (actually Highclere Castle), are hosting a virtual cocktail party via Facebook Live on Friday, April 17 (18th our time).

The Earl and Countess plan to discuss the history of Highclere, drink period cocktails from the 1920s and 1930s, and share stories about what it was like to have Downton Abbey filmed in their home.

Keeping with the theme of the show, the Earl and Countess will have a little jazz (Lady Rose would approve), a little gin (everyone on Downton would approve), and a lot of throwback glamour (fans of the show and movie will definitely approve).

It's not every day you get an invitation to sip gin and mingle with a Countess, so anyone interested should get their outfit laid out, make sure their lady's maid is set, and prepare for a night to remember.
