We've had a number of great musical biopics filmed in recent years, including 'Bohemian Rhapsody' about singer Freddie Mercury, and Elton John's 'Rocketman'. But one film we've yet to see be made has been about The Culture Club's Boy George.
According to the 58-year-old, he revealed there will be more 'sex and drugs' compared to the other two movies, and aims to "push more buttons" and be "more provocative".
His writing partner and movie director Sasha Gervasi revealed to The Mirror: “George has thrived on his authenticity, the fact he has been so ruthlessly, almost alarmingly honest."
"I think the film has to reflect that."
“We’re hoping to embrace that and push it a little bit farther than it was in those other films. It’s a little bit tougher, the Boy George story, a little bit less polished.”
No date yet for the future Boy George film, but it isn't the only big-named musical biopic in the works. With one about Elvis Presley currently in production in Australia, filming had halted after star Tom Hanks was diagnosed with coronavirus.
