Incredible boy carries his disabled friend to school everyday

A Chinese schoolboy has carried his disabled friend to and from class every day for six years.

Xu Bingyang, a 12-year-old from China's Sichuan Province, has piggy-backed his best friend, Zhang Ze, every day since they started at Hebazi Town Central Primary School together.

He also helps him fetch lunch, fill his water bottle and go to the bathroom.

The pair's beautiful friendship made headline earlier this month after it was reported by local Chinese news outlets.

Xu told local reporters from Sichuan Online and Xinhua it was his pleasure to help his friend, and that it wasn't too difficult.

"I weigh more than 40kg and Zhang Ze only weighs about 25kg, so it's okay for me to carry him," he said.

"I am bigger than him. I thought if I did not help him, no one would."

Zhang said he was very grateful for Xu's help

"Xu Bingyang is my best friend," he told Sichuan Online.

"Every day he studies with me, chats with me and plays with me. [I] thank him to look after me like this every day."

Zhang was diagnosed with a rare muscle condition called myasthenia gravis at age four. The condition is sometimes called the rag-doll disease, due to the loss of muscular control.

It means Zhang cannot walk by himself, so Xu will either hold him by the hand, or support him from the side as they slowly move together.

Whenever there are stairs, Xu will carry his friend on his back.

"For many years, Xu has continued doing good deeds, and never complained in front of teachers or classmates," one teacher told Sichuan Online.

When asked about his future plans, Xu said he hoped to continue helping people around him.
