As the release date for Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" biopic film inches closer, lead actor, Rami Malek sits in with Triple J to chat about his role as Freddie Mercury.

Malek, who plays Elliot in the TV series, Mr. Robot, talks about how his first audition. Malek says, "I drove home and this surreal fog of 'Is this happening?', and I guess it did, look at where I am now."
"I watched every piece of archive or footage that exists on the internet. Every documentary, every book." Malek adds, "It was like going back to theatre school because every day, I had a regime."
Malek also said that he had to go to Abbey Road to videotape four songs along with a mock press conference. He then had to show the tape to Brian May and Roger Taylor for approval.
