All weather set for Harry and Meghan in NZ

The royal couple are set to get a taste of all the weather New Zealand has to offer during their visit to our shores next week.

MetService says the weather for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be typical for New Zealand spring - with wind, rain, sun, and cloud all expected over the four-day visit.

Communications meteorologist Lisa Murray said the couple will be "greeted with some rain" on their arrival in Wellington - and, in typical capital fashion, a decent breeze will be expected throughout the day.

However, she said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will get some New Zealand sun when they travel to Rotorua on Wednesday. They'll enjoy clear skies and an expected high of 17degC on their final full day here.

Ms Murray said the weather will be variable, and people should check the forecasts if they're heading out to get a glimpse of the royal couple.

"I'm sure nothing will detract from what is bound to be a highly successful visit to New Zealand," she said.

The couple will arrive in Wellington on Sunday, before visiting Abel Tasman National Park the following day. The Duke and Duchess will then travel to Auckland on Tuesday before popping down to Rotorua.
