To celebrate Maori Language week this week a timely release of an app has arrived to help your Maori translation.
Kupu is a new app that uses the camera in your phone to instantly translate objects into te reo Māori. Launched by Spark, the app will be able to help you learn a fuller range of Maori words.
The app works by taking a photo of an everyday object and the name for it is translated in real time. You can then click on the speaker button and hear it said aloud for you to practice.
Social media presenter Shannon Redstall spoke to Duncan Garner.
