Study proves beauty is a feeling not an aesthetic

Must See 22/08/2018

We've all heard beauty comes from within, but sometimes it can feel hard to believe. But new research from the University of New York has found that beauty is not an aesthetic but a feeling. Therefore it doesn't matter how much or great your jeans look, your beauty will radiate from the inside out.

The report has been published in the scientific journal Current Biology, and suggest that beauty is a state of mind or a feeling opposed to how you look.  Ani Ferlise, a Reiki master and founder of the subscription box Kozmic Ryder, who was not involved in the research couldn't agree more.

Beauty is both an emotion and something tangible

She uses the example of getting dressed to music in the morning, if you looked at your outfit after listening to a great song that makes you feel good, you would like your outfit considerably more. Proving the point that beauty is more of an internal feeling that then comes out.

Beauty is something that can be achieved every day, and you just need to feel that emotion, and here are a few ways how to do that.

1. Take time to meditate.

This is very important, give yourself a set time of the day and focus on your breaths. According to  Robert Glatter, M.D., an assistant professor of emergency medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital, "an ideal way to engage ourselves daily in building emotional stability and an inner sense of pleasure." Therefore you will become more intact with your emotions and be able to identify the emotion of beauty.

2. Get creative

Painting or drawing can create a sense of self-confidence, and instantly will make yourself feel great about you! This is perfect for radiating beauty when you feel confident about yourself, it projects to others.

3. Live an authentic life.

Dr Seuss once said, "Today you are you, and that is truer than true. There is no one alive that is youer than you." Living life authentically starts with being self-aware, this means taking what you feel into account yet not ignoring it. Be true to your feelings, beliefs and, and this will beam beauty to the people around you.
