Emilia Wickstead very openly criticized the Duchess of Sussex's Givenchy wedding gown this year, which made many royal watchers believe that the designer would not be given any Royal family design commissions.
But during their time in Dublin the New Zealand-born, London-based designer was seemingly given a second chance.
She arrived with husband Prince Harry on her arm, to the summer garden party at the British Ambassador’s residence in Dublin.
Wearing a classic sleeveless, belted cocktail dress, she left everyone surprised as the dress was designed by none other than Emilia Wickstead herself.
Wickstead, who is a firm design favourite of Kate Middleton, caught the headlines in May this year when she criticised Markle’s Givenchy wedding gown and accusing the designer, Clare Waight Keller of copying her designs.
The designer then released a form statement apologising for her comments- which must have caught Markle’s eye, as this seems like an olive branch on her behalf.
The eventful two-day Dublin trip has also seen al young fan grab the Duchess’s hair.
Prince Harry wasn’t safe either, playfully scolding the little boy after he also went after his beard.
