Olivia Newton-John's ex-partner may have been found alive and well after being declared dead in 2008.
Patrick McDermott dated Olivia, 69, on and off between 1995 until his disappearance in 2005.
The cameraman had been on a fishing trip off the coast of California and none of the 22 passengers on board the boat saw him fall overboard.
In 2008, he was declared dead after the United Stated Coast Guard concluded that Patrick had “most likely” drowned after going missing on 30 June 2005.
Then in 2010, there were allegations that Patrick had faked his own death and was living in Mexico.
New Idea Australian have reported that they have proof that Patrick is alive after they received a photograph by US media agency Coleman-Rayner showing a man that matches Patrick’s description in Mexico with a female companion.
The man in the photo is believed to be approximately 60-years-old - which is the age that Patrick would be. Private investigator, Charlie Parker has explained to the magazine why he thinks the man in the photo is Patrick.
"The widow's peak is exact. The eyes are very similar and the ears extend down on the head the same distance. I believe it is him,” the P.I. told the Australian magazine.
He said the man in the photograph was a "90 per cent match” to be Patrick McDermott.
Patrick is believed to have owed $8,000 in child support at the time of his disappearance.
Olivia had previously explained that she sometimes thinks of her former boyfriend following his disappearance 12 years ago.
"It's human to wonder. Those are the things in life you have to accept and let go because whenever you go through difficult times there are always those concerns but…I live on." she told Australian TV series 60 minutes in September.
