After a shocking loss at The Block NZ auction last week, fans of the show set up a donation page for contestants, Stace and Yanita but they won't be keeping any of the money.
Stace and Yanita spoke to Woman's Day saying they will be gifting all the funds raised on their Give a Little page to Lifeline Aotearoa after Stace sadly lost a family member to suicide while she was competing on the show.
“Suicide touches so many people and it doesn’t need to,” says 39-year-old mum-of-two Stace. “If this money makes even the tiniest bit of difference, then it’s worth it.”
The girls received the most profit at The Block NZ 2017 auction until Andy and Nate's house went up for auction a second time. The boys then made more money, making them the winners and leaving Stace and Yanita as well as viewers shocked.
Despite the shock result, 29-year-old Yanita says, “We're really, really proud of what we've done. It’s been a rollercoaster – and it's hard to look back, but we're happy.
“We’ve got $20,000, what do we have to be complain about?”
