The Block NZ season 6 runners up Stace & Yanita were upset that they didn’t win the $100,000 winner’s prize after a controversial auction last Sunday. However, they’re not going to keep the money from a Givealittle fundraiser that has been started in their names.
Stace & Yanita, who walked away with $20,000 on the night, told fans on their Instagram pages they were grateful for those who had rallied around them and donated almost $3,500 in support.
“So grateful for the give-a-little page that was set up for us! Thank you kind people,” Stace posted on Instagram.
“We do believe there are people that need it more than us... so we'd like to gift all the donated funds to Lifeline Aotearoa. A cause that is dear to our hearts.”

They also gave the option to fans who didn’t wish their money go to Lifeline Aotearoa to contact them and have their money returned.
The Block NZ host Mark Richardson has also insisted there are far more worthy causes than its contestants for people to donate money to.
On The AM Show on Wednesday, Richardson said he appreciated the passionate fan response, but thought money should be donated elsewhere.
"There are more worthy charities," he said. "People engage with the talent, the viewer gets invested in the show ... I think that's great."
