Earlier this week actress, Meghan Markle, joined her boyfriend, Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in Canade for their first public appearance.
Now relatives of Meghan have revealed that she already has a family member with a royal connection.
According to Meghan’s family tree, her great-great-great-grandmother, Mary Bird, was a loyal member of staff at the royal palaces.
The royal household staff recorded an M Bird appearing weekly at Windsor Castle in 1856, which fits in with the time that Mary served.
Not much is known about Mary except that she was born in Ireland before she settled with her family in England.
She married English soldier, Thomas Bird and went on to have three daughters, including Meghan’s great-great-grandmother, also named Mary, who was born in Malta in 1862.
After Thomas died, Mary took her family to Canada before moving to the U.S.
