If Sir Elton John could be any woman alive, he'd be Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

The 'Bennie and the Jets' hitmaker has candidly answered a number of questions, posed by the likes of Eminem, Ed Sheeran and Bob Dylan, in a no-holds-barred A-lister Q&A ahead of the release of his new autobiography Me.

John's autobiographer and The Guardian reporter Alexis Petridis allowed Elton's famous fans to ask anything they wanted - no topic off limits. Lenny Kravitz, Donatella Versace and Lewis Hamilton were among the celebrities tasked with questioning the music icon.

"If you could be one woman alive and one woman from the past, who would you be?" asked model and Suicide Squad actor Cara Delevingne.

"It's hard to pick someone from today, because there are so many candidates, but I think I'd choose Jacinda Ardern," John, 72, replied.

"She's one of the few politicians that I respect and love - she's got dignity and she's humane. I think she's doing a brilliant job."

His woman of choice from way back when was British-American screen legend, Elizabeth Taylor.
