Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital

The gorgeous reuniting of 4 best friends, finally in remission

Must See 25/09/2018

Back in 2015  McKinley, Chloe, Ava and Lauren became best of friends due to a horrific circumstance. They were all undergoing different cancer treatment at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Fast forward to today the friends have been reunited, all in remission at the Hospital which saved them. They have recreated a gorgeous photo in their survivor tops since they are all currently in remission.

McKinley, Ava and Lauren all had acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, and Chloe had a rare form of lung cancer. According to little McKinley, they all became the best of friends 'because our blood was sick'.

Lauren's mum, Shawna Glynn, said the girls became very close when they all had bald heads, as it was a natural bonding point for the girls, who were experiencing something so isolating.

She's three years old and doesn't have any hair, but all of her friends in the hospital look the same way, so it kind of gave her some normalcy.

The mothers were also thrilled to see each other again as they became extremely close during their traumatic year. They recount how comforting it was to have something who knows precisely what you're going through.

These four girls are inspirational and exhibits the true power of friendship.
