One of the latest Michelin stars to be awarded to a chef was bestowed upon a street food hawker from Singapore.
Chan Hon Meng of Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle makes the world's best noodles and has been cooking up a storm for 35 years.
Queues for his stall appear early in the morning even before Chan Hong Meng opens for business. “I asked them, are you joking?” said the humble chef. “Why would Michelin come to my stall? Can a hawker even be nominated?”
He is right in asking this as Chan Hon Meng is the first street food stall to be awarded the star, and the cheapest too!
Chances are the lines aren't going to get any better for those wanting a taste of the critically acclaimed noodles!
